Dick Barrett

This roly-poly wartime big leaguer was a Pacific Coast League standout, with seven 20-win seasons, 234 wins, and the league’s most career strikeouts. After an 0-4 start with the Cubs in 1943, he was sold to the Phillies and responded with a 14-inning, 1-0 blanking of Cincinnati. His 20 losses led the NL in 1945.
