The Canadian-born Miller lost the 1911 batting race to Honus Wagner, who had 100 fewer at-bats, by just one point. Miller did lead the NL with 192 hits and also finished second with 36 doubles. In 1913, no longer a regular, he led the NL with 20 pinch hits and 56 pinch at-bats.
