Frank DiPino

DiPino threw a seven-inning, Eastern League no-hitter for Holyoke as a Milwaukee farmhand on June 8, 1980. Acquired in a 1982 trade for Don Sutton, DiPino led the Astros in saves in 1983 (20) and 1984 (14). He struggled with control in 1985, and, with Dave Smith’s emergence as a closer, was dealt to the Cubs for Davey Lopes in 1986. He went 9-0 in 1989 as a middle reliever for the Cardinals.
