George Caster

As a knuckleball starter for Connie Mack‘s hapless A’s, Caster lost 19 games in 1937 and led the AL in losses in 1938 (20) and 1940 (19). Waived to the Browns after the 1940 season, he became an effective reliever, leading the AL in saves (12) in 1944 when the Browns won their only pennant.
