Lucadello did part-time scouting for the Cubs while working in a war-materials plant and became a full-time scout with the White Sox in 1948. He joined the Phillies’ scouting staff in 1957. His discoveries include Mike Schmidt, Ferguson Jenkins, and Toby Harrah.
