Joseph Cambria

Cambria was brought to the US from his native Italy when he was three months old, and was a minor league outfielder until he broke his leg in 1916. He owned several minor league clubs from 1929 to 1939, and became a scout for the Washington Senators, staying with the club when it moved to Minnesota as the Twins. Cambria signed Mickey Vernon, Early Wynn, and Ed Yost for the Senators, but was best known for his scouting in Cuba, signing over 400 Cuban players to pro contracts in his career
