Hedlund signed with Cleveland for a significant bonus after throwing a no-hitter in the 1963 Connie Mack World Series. In 1969 he went to Kansas City in the expansion draft. He was 15-8, 2.71 in 1971 but spent the rest of his career fighting a sore arm.
