The 22-year-old Warren was concluding a mediocre rookie season with the A’s in 1983 when, in his last start of the year, he pitched a no-hitter, baffling the White Sox 3-0 on September 29. His success ended there, however, as he won only four more ML games. In 1982, he had led the California League with 19 wins.
