Monk Dubiel

Dubiel was a competent wartime Yankee pitcher, exempted from military service because of an eye problem. He went 13-13 as a rookie in 1944, 10-9 in 1945, then was demoted. Later toiling unspectacularly in the NL, he was hampered by a hip injury, an ear infection, and a chronic back ailment.
