Finn was a scrapper from New York. While in the Pacific Coast League, he once punched out pitcher Duster Mails, who had thrown at Finn. As a Dodger, Finn drew a sneering comment from the Cubs Rogers Hornsby and challenged him. Hornsby backed down, but his pugnacious teammate, Billy Jurges, got into the fight. Finn was traded to the Phillies, but died after complaining of stomach pains and undergoing an operation during the 1933 season.
