Blond, broad-shouldered Newt Kimball went 9-3 in four part-time seasons for the Dodgers. Sold to the Cardinals in 1940, he was returned to Brooklyn after pitching two games when Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis voided the transaction due to a mishandling of the waiver process.
