Intermittent arm trouble caused the Astros to give up on Darcy after five years in their farm system. Dealt to the Reds, he was a one-year wonder, going 11-5 with a 3.57 ERA for the 1975 World Champions. The next year his arm problems returned and he was soon out of the majors.
