Pat Mullin

Detroit’s number 6 before Al Kaline, Mullin batted .345 in 54 games as a Tiger rookie in 1941, then served four years in WWII. He was an All-Star in 1947 and in 1948 – his best year – when he batted .288 with 23 HR and 80 RBI. After that he was a reserve, and made 57 appearances as a lefthanded pinch hitter in his final year, 1953.
