Pete Filson

First signed by the Yankees, Filson won his first 12 pro decisions, including seven-inning no-hitters in the 1979 Appalachian League and the 1980 South Atlantic League. Traded to the Twins in 1982, he proved to have only a mediocre major league fastball. Used mostly in long relief, he became known as an inconsistent, flaky lefthander who thought too much. The Yankees reacquired him in 1987, but he worked only 22 innings for them and went 0-4 for Kansas City in his last major-league stint in 1990.
