Rolando Roomes

Roomes, a native Jamaican, was one of the few modern-day players to make the transition from cricket to baseball, but he matched a dubious record with the Reds in 1989, his only full season. Drawing just 13 free passes while striking out 100 times, he tied John Bateman (13 walks, 103 strikeouts for the 1963 Astros) for fewest walks in a 100-strikeout season. Overall, Roomes struck out 130 times in 420 major-league plate appearances.
