Rube Oldring

Oldring was a reliable outfielder for four Athletics pennant-winners. He batted a career-high .308 in 1910, then broke his leg on the eve of the World Series, giving gifted fielder Amos Strunk the chance to play centerfield. Upon his return in 1911, Oldring moved to left field, and the strengthened A’s rolled on to three more pennants in four years.
