Sonny Jackson

Jackson was a 150-lb lefthanded batter who hit .292 and stole a post-1900 NL rookie record 49 bases in 1966. He and Joe Morgan were supposed to be Houston’s double-play combo of the future, but Jackson hit just .237 his sophomore season and was traded to Atlanta. There he had injury problems, and never played more than 97 games at shortstop. He spent the 1971 season in the outfield.
