Poholsky was named 1950 International League MVP for his 18-6 record and 21 complete games. One of them was a 22-inning marathon in which he did not give up a run after the second inning, leading Rochester to a 3-2 victory over Jersey City. After going 7-13 for the 1951 Cardinals, he spent two years in the army, and returned in 1954 to post three losing seasons.
