Tufie Hashem

Hashem began his baseball career as GM of Mexicali in 1949, and began scouting for the Cardinals in’$(((1954 when he steered Ruben Amaro their way. He also worked briefly for the Pirates and Angels, and made numerous scouting trips to Mexico and Latin America, but his most prominent discoveries were American-born players like Jay Johnstone, Rudy MayDoug Griffin, and Roy White.
