Turk Lown

Lown was a hard-throwing but very wild starter with few successes in his first three years with the Cubs. Switched to relief, he blossomed into a star. His top season was 1959, when he helped the White Sox to their first pennant in 40 years with a 9-2 mark, an AL-leading 15 saves, and a 2.89 ERA. His nickname came from his fondness for turkey.
