The Field of Dreams baseball field is located in Dyersville, Iowa, in the United States. It is located on a farm property just outside of town, surrounded by cornfields and other rural landscapes.
The original Field of Dreams baseball field was built in 1988 for the filming of the movie “Field of Dreams,” which starred Kevin Costner as a farmer who builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield after hearing a voice that tells him “If you build it, he will come.” The movie has since become a classic and the field has become a popular tourist destination for baseball fans and movie lovers alike.
In 2019, a new Field of Dreams ballpark was constructed adjacent to the original field, with a seating capacity of approximately 8,000 spectators. The new ballpark was built with the intention of hosting an official MLB game, which took place in August of that year between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox.
The Field of Dreams baseball field has become a symbol of America’s love for baseball and its connection to the rural landscapes and small-town communities that are often associated with the sport.
