Robert B McRoy

McRoy spent half his life as an executive in baseball, serving as secretary of the AL for the league’s first 11 years. In 1911 he was part-owner of the Red Sox for a year, and in 1915 he was named vice president and treasurer of the Indians. One of his first acts was to close the deal that brought Tris Speaker to Cleveland from the Red Sox. From 1909 to 1917 McRoy was the business manager of the WS with John Heydler.
