Nick Colosi

Before turning to umpiring, Colosi was a maitre d’ at the famous Copacabana night club in New York. His most famous call came in the 1975 WS. After much media hype on the legality of Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant’s hand movement as he came to a set position, Colosi called a balk (ironically, on Tiant’s leg movement) in the fourth inning of the opening game.
