Demaree was most effective early in the season, and 14 of his 80 career wins were shutouts. He was 13-4 for the Giant pennant winners in 1913 and 14-11 for the Phillies when they won the 1915 pennant. In 1916 he won 19, including both games of a September 20 doubleheader against the Phillies. Demareee later became a sports cartoonist, syndicated in over 200 newspapers. His work appeared in The Sporting News for over 30 years.
