Frank Duffy

The freckle-faced, sure-handed Duffy was Cleveland’s starting shortstop from 1972 through 1977. A Stanford graduate drafted by Cincinnati, in May 1971 he went to the Giants with Vern Geishert for George Foster in a notoriously uneven trade, and that November he was dealt to the Indians with Gaylord Perry for Sam McDowell. He led AL shortstops in fielding in 1973 and 1976.
