Scott led the NL in appearances and had a 15-13 mark for Boston in 1921. He was traded to Cincinnati during the off-season but when he tore a shoulder muscle in April 1922, the Reds released him. He signed with the Giants and went 8-2, then added a four-hit shutout of the Yankees in the World Series. His best season followed in 1924 when he went 16-7 for the Giants’ fourth straight NL pennant winner. He lost 21 games in a season twice, in 1920 with the Reds and in 1927 with Phillies. Batting righthanded he had a career average of .275, topped by .341 in 1921.
