Smith had his best year with the 1920 World Champion Indians, hitting .316, with 12 home runs and 103 RBI. In that year’s World Series, his homer off Hall of Famer Burleigh Grimes of Brooklyn in the first inning of Game Five was the first grand slam in Series history.
