The Black Senators adopted the name of their white, Texas League counterparts, and reigned as the leading club in the Texas hill country in the 1910s through the 1930s. In its history, the team underwent numerous ownership changes and disbanded and regrouped more than a dozen times. The team traveled throughout central Texas and often competed in exhibition games with the Lone Star’s black colleges.
