Barney Schultz

This knuckleball reliever set a since-broken ML record in 1962 by making relief appearances in nine consecutive games for the Cubs, climaxed by a pair of wins in a doubleheader against the Phillies. He had 14 saves and a 1.64 ERA on the 1964 NL-champion Cardinals, but he lost Game Three of the WS when Mickey Mantle homered off his first pitch after Schultz relieved in the bottom of the ninth.
