Addie covered the Senators for 37 years with the Washington Times-Herald and the Washington Post. His column, “Addie’s Atoms,” appeared in The Sporting News. In 1981 Addie received the J.G. Taylor Spink Award. He was married to Pauline Betz, four-time U.S. women ‘s tennis champion.
