Charley Moran

Moran played briefly in the NL and umpired there for 23 years, but he is better known for his football career. A fullback with the Massillon Tigers in 1905, he went on to become a highly successful coach at many schools, including Texas A&M;, Carlisle, and Bucknell. In 1921 his Centre College Praying Colonels, featuring All-America Bo McMillin, handed Harvard its first defeat in three years. In 1927, he coached the Frankford Yellow Jackets of the National Football League.
