Dan Osinski

Though the hard-throwing Osinski would often freeze batters with his icy blue eyes and blazing, inside fastballs, teammates claim he wasn’t half as mean as his reputation. Generally a long reliever, he was given a starting shot by the Angels in 1963, and threw a two-hitter and a three-hitter. His 3-1 (2.54) record (despite arm trouble) helped keep the Red Sox in the race for their 1967 “miracle” pennant.
