Dennis Powell

Powell came up to the Los Angeles Dodgers in mid-1985 as a minor league sensation after he had gone 9-0 at Albuquerque. He had surgery to repair bone chips in his throwing elbow before he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for Matt Young on December 10, 1986.

Control problems prevented Powell from ever achieving major-league success. In his career, he walked 159 batters in 339 1/3 innings, while striking out just 199. Not coincidentally, his ERA was below 4.00 only once.
