Dick Weik

The 6’3″ Weik had a blazing fastball but was wild. In 1949, he went 3-12 as a Senators rookie and walked 13 White Sox in one game. He was traded to Cleveland in 1950 for two-time batting champion Mickey Vernon – a deal for which Indians GM Hank Greenberg was widely criticized. Weik pitched in 11 games for Cleveland, spent the next two years in the military, and never won again.
