Don Nottebart

Nottebart broke in with the Braves as a competent reliever who could spot-start and was acquired by the fledgling Colt .45s for 1963. He had his best season, going 11-8 with a 3.17 ERA as Houston’s third starter, and on May 17 he no-hit the Phillies, walking two and winning 4-1. Nottebart slumped to 6-11, 3.90 in 1964 and then to 4-15, 4.67 in 1965. The Reds picked him up and returned him to the bullpen, and he had two more decent seasons, going 5-4 with 11 saves and a 3.07 ERA in 1966, and 0-3, 1.93, with four saves in 1967.
