Ed Farmer

Farmer’s best stint came as the bullpen ace of the White Sox; in the years 1979-81 he had 14, 30, and 10 saves. When he signed with the Phillies as a free agent following the 1981 season, Chicago picked Joel Skinner from the compensation pool. Farmer was property of the Yankees for three days during spring training in 1974 before being sold to the Phillies.
