Frank McGowan

McGowan excelled in the majors only in 1928, when he batted .363 in 168 at-bats with the Browns. His best years came in the International League, where the popular lefthanded hitter was the 1936 MVP (.356, 23 HR, 111 RBI). He managed Baltimore in 1932-33, and earned his way into the International League Hall of Fame. He was the Orioles’ New England scouting supervisor from 1954 through 1973.
