Guy Bush

One of the winningest Cubs pitchers (152-101), Bush did double duty throughout his career, starting 308 games and relieving in 234. He led the NL in either relief wins or saves in four different seasons (1925, 1926, 1929, 1935), yet started at least 15 times in each of those years. On May 4, 1927, he worked 18 innings as the Cubs outlasted the Braves 7-2.

Bush won 18 and saved eight for the 1929 Cub pennant winners, contributed 19 wins to the 1932 NL champs, and had his only 20-win season the next year.

He was traded to Pittsburgh in 1935. On May 25, Bush relieved against the Braves in a game at Forbes Field and gave up the last two home runs of Babe Ruth‘s career.
