Ike Boone

A product of the University of Alabama, Boone hit well in several trials in the majors, but his lack of speed handicapped him in the field and on the bases. He had a career BA of .370 in the minor leagues, and in 1929 (over the course of 198 games in the Pacific Coast League), he set an organized baseball record with 553 total bases while batting .407 with 55 homers and 218 RBI.
