Ira Flagstead

A 5’9″ righthanded batter who hit for average more than power, Flagstead batted over .300 five times. A skillful fielder, he spent most of his career in centerfield, though the Tigers tried him at shortstop and second base in 1921. Flagstead holds the AL record, and is tied for the ML record for the most double plays started by an outfielder in a game, with three (4/19/26).
