Jack Harshman

Harshman began his pro career as a slugging first baseman, leading the Southern Association in HR (47) and RBI (141) in 1951; he went on to hit 21 ML homers. In 1952 he began the transition to the mound. Harshman set the White Sox team record for strikeouts in a single game with 16 at Boston on July 25, 1954.
