Jeff Musselman

Harvard graduate Musselman’s budding career as a lefthanded spot-starter and set-up man was interrupted in 1989 when he lost time to personal problems and then was traded to the Mets for Mookie Wilson. His 68 appearances in 1987 were the fifth-most ever by a rookie pitcher. He developed a muscle tear in his pitching shoulder, had off-season surgery, and did not rejoin the Blue Jays until midway through the 1988 season, at which time he was used as a starter.
