Jim Colborn

In a 1966 College All-Star Game in the Netherlands, Colborn struck out 21. He attended the University of Edinburgh and was All-Scotland in basketball.

Success as a ML pitcher was harder to come by. As a young reliever in Chicago, Colborn found himself in Leo Durocher‘s doghouse and was shipped to Milwaukee. In 1973 he became the first Brewer to win 20 games.

When three losing seasons ensued, Colborn went in a four-for-one trade to Kansas City for catcher Darrell Porter. On May 14, 1977, he tossed a 6-0 no-hitter against Texas, one of his 18 wins that year for the Royals.
