Jim McGlothin

McGlothin was the Angels’ number-two starter for three seasons (1967-69) and made the All-Star squad in 1967, when he tied for the AL shutout lead (6) while going 12-8, 2.96. Traded to the Reds with pitchers Pedro Borbon and Vern Geishert after the 1969 season for Alex Johnson and Chico Ruiz, he and Borbon proved valuable additions, helping Cincinnati to NL pennants in 1970 and 1972. McGlothin went 14-10 and 9-8 those years, but was hit hard in both his World Series starts.
