John Castino

Castino shared Rookie of the Year honors with Alfredo Griffin in 1979 when he hit .285 as the Twins’third baseman. He had career highs (.302, 13 HR, 64 RBI) the next season and led the AL in triples in 1981. Switched to second base in 1982 after the arrival of Gary Gaetti, Castino was hobbled by chronic back pain. A fused disc ended his career early in 1984.
