Jose Alvarez

Alvarez, a reliever, finally stuck in the majors at the age of 32. He began his career in the Braves system, was let go by them and by three other organizations, and was picked up again by Atlanta in 1986. Alvarez pitched solidly for the Braves in 1988 and 1989, but arm injuries ended his career. He often appeared in celebrity golf tournaments after retiring from baseball.
