Keith Comstock

Comstock is a study in perseverance. Originally signed in 1976, he had a four-game stint with the Twins in 1984 but was released. He signed with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan to keep his career alive, but was 8-10 over two seasons and was released after 1986. He caught on with the Giants in 1987 and was traded to San Diego in the big deal that brought Kevin Mitchell to San Francisco. He later put together two effective seasons for the Mariners, including 1990, when he won seven games out of the bullpen and saved two others while posting a 2.89 ERA in 60 games.
