Mike Garman

Boston’s number-one pick in the June 1967 draft, the 6’3″ Garman had an outstanding fastball and good curve. He pitched sparingly for the Red Sox but blossomed as a reliever with St. Louis. He saved 12 for the 1977 NL champion Dodgers, and 42 lifetime. Garman’s father was in the Pirate farm system, brother Steve in the Giants.
