Mike Tyson

The fiercely competitive Tyson made it to the majors on his glove work. He was selected Cardinal Rookie of the Year in 1973, playing 128 games at shortstop. He moved to second base in 1976 to make room for Don Kessinger and was hitting .305 in July when he broke his finger making a tag and then refractured it while getting dressed. On May 8, 1977 against Houston, he started a triple play. Tyson lost the second base job to Ken Oberkfell in 1979 and was traded to the Cubs.
