After leading AL shortstops with 80 errors in 1908, on July 19, 1909, the Cleveland infielder executed the major leagues’ first unassisted triple play, catching a liner, doubling one Red Sox runner off second, and tagging another from first. He also hit an inside-the-park homer that inning.
